Rob L. Whitacre

Rob Whitacre was born August 1974, in Carbondale, Illinois, and was raised near San Antonio, Texas, by two loving and God-fearing parents: Gerry and Cathy. He is married to Nicole of Nashville, TN. They have one daughter, Hannah, and one son, Jared. He preached his first sermon at the age of 19 in a campaign in Vermilion, OH. His education includes San Antonio College, Abilene Christian University, Southwest School of Bible Studies (2 year diploma), Southwest School of Bible Studies (graduate certificate in Sacred History), and Southern Christian University (B.A.). He preached for the Poole church of Christ (KY) from 1997-2002, and the Hillsboro church of Christ from 2002-2007. He writes articles for The Gospel Journal and THINK magazine and has conducted Gospel meetings and seminars in Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio, Kentucky, Arkansas, Pennsylvania, and Alabama. He has spoken on the Shenandoah, Northern New England, Northeast, New Hope Road, Southwest, Mid-Arkansas, Old Philadelphia, Middle Tennessee School of Preaching, Cane Ridge, and Gospel Journal Lectureships. He has a deep and abiding love for missions and has worked in Panama, New Zealand, and Jamaica. Every two years he leads a large campaign to Jamaica. He has authored two books, The Old Testament Simplified and The New Testament Simplified. He co-authored Engage with Brad Harrub. He currently preaches for the Willette church of Christ in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee, and has served as an instructor at the Middle Tennessee School of Preaching and Biblical Studies. He holds a private pilot license and is a certified soccer coach.
